Writing services: Why hire a content writer?
Quite simply, you’re busy trying to run your business and don’t want the extra kerfuffle. You want to get on with what you do best and leave the rest to someone else.
Your website needs to not only look great but be searchable and full of great content. If you hire a content writer, you can let them do all the hard work for you. A good content writer will have a knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to heighten your chances of being found in Google.
How I can help
I can provide you with engaging, interesting content, utilizing relevant keywords. Words can help inspire, move and motivate. Contrived, bland posts written just to rank in Google are soulless. I believe with every article there’s an opportunity to help people. It is possible to write optimized content whilst writing with meaning and purpose. Google is clever, it looks at more than just keywords now, it takes into account the length of the post and related phrases, so it’s more important than ever to have well-researched, detailed, well-written posts and pages.
I can help you connect with your clients in an honest, meaningful way. I like to think of myself as an ethical writer. I want to support businesses and charities that help people and the world. I’d like to get to know you and your ethos so I can help you form great relationships with your customers.

I’ve written on many topics and I’m able to adapt easily to different writing styles. One day I can be writing about cataracts, the next day child-friendly places in Singapore. But everybody has their special interests…
I lived and worked overseas for nearly five years in Australia and New Zealand and have travelled extensively through South East Asia. I spent an eye-opening four months in India in 2012. I took part in a writing residency in Thailand in 2018 where I extended my digital marketing, writing and editing skills. I enjoy researching exciting places in the world and have helped produce destination guides, travelogues and have written personal accounts of experiences, such as this one about my Thailand residency.
Having worked in the hospitality and tourism industry – in hotels, pubs, restaurants and backpacker hostels/travel desks – I feel in a great position to understand the needs of different types of travellers and write for them accordingly.
I can help you with a range of travel writing that inspires and cultivates wanderlust, or is informative and helps with the practicalities of travel. I’m also particularly interested in helping people who lack confidence when it comes to going travelling, or struggle with anxiety whilst away as this is something I’ve dealt with myself.
Yoga and holistic therapies
I had the pleasure of working for a yoga centre on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan in Thailand, creating social media content, pitching blog post ideas and then creating those into optimized articles.
I have been doing yoga for over five years and now practice every day. Yoga helps with more than just flexibility, it helps me with my work. I am a calmer, more balanced person through practicing yoga. I’m keen to promote the health benefits of yoga and meditation, not just in the body but spiritually and mentally.
I’m a big supporter of complementary and holistic therapies. I am trained to level two in Reiki, and though not using it as a practitioner I have benefited greatly for myself. I’m also a big fan of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and have tried many holistic therapies such as kinesiology, acupuncture and homeopathy.
Having worked for a relationship counselling for over five years, and through my own experiences, I have a special interest in relationships and dating, particularly encouraging healthy, balanced relationships.
I spent 16 years working in the hospitality industry – need I say more? I worked in hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs, in offices, hotels – in the UK and in Australia and New Zealand. I have experience of organising events, conferences and weddings, plus extensive admin experience.
I worked for a relationship counselling organisation for over five years. Not only did this give me interesting relationship insights, but as the Office Manager my role was focussed around understanding the needs of both counsellors and clients. I have a great understanding of the benefits of counselling and therapy and learnt how to be empathic, and sensitive whilst being assertive. I know how hard it can be for people who are making their first enquiries into therapeutic services and want to support people in that journey.
I often draw on my own experiences when writing personal blogs and guest posts. I feel it’s important to share my experiences to help others who may be going through the same things. Sharing our own stories can be so powerful.
I also created social media content and scheduled posts for Relate Avon for one year.
Body positivity, self-esteem and self-help
Through my own personal growth, I’m keen to use my writing to help others build their self-esteem and confidence. I wrote a body image blog for a year, which was a learning curve for me in more than just writing terms. I now make a body image and self-esteem vlog to try to help people with confidence and anxiety issues due to body image problems. Although body image issues affect anyone of any gender, women can be particularly affected and held back because of low self-worth. I’ve spent many years reading books, doing courses and pushing myself out of my comfort zone to try to overcome these issues and am keen to share these experiences to help others.
I believe that gender issues are the cause of many problems in the world, more than we care to credit it for. The pressures on both men and women to look and act in certain ways is having a huge impact in the way we treat our fellow humans. I believe in being non-judgmental and supportive of any one of any gender or non-binary people, and of any sexuality.
I have a strong work ethic and actively look to support and help companies and individuals with a similar outlook. I won’t write, edit or work for in any capacity, any businesses (or individuals) with judgmental or discriminatory attitudes. I don’t support marketing practices that shames or manipulates customers into buying products.
